    About

Jeffrey Chung is a Sydney based photographer, law graduate and the founder of Jeffrey Journal. From a young age, Jeffrey has been heavily involved in the creative space by way of sketching, painting, graphic design, and photography. This interest in visual storytelling stems from Jeffrey’s introversion and fascination with things that are unsaid, which also provided the impetus for the creation of Jeffrey Journal in 2014. While this space has gradually become a fashion and lifestyle edit, the core function of this Journal has always been documentation and building a platform on which people, who do not usually voice their opinions, can share their thoughts on fashion, lifestyle and culture.

Academically, Jeffrey has converged his creative passion with his study of law to develop an interest in media and intellectual property law. When he is not studying, he is shooting content for this Journal or working on campaigns for brands. His creative process involves precise conceptualisation, planning and attention to fine detail. This artistic vision has seen Jeffrey work collaboratively with, and create content for, brands such as Samsung, Farfetch, Menlook, ASOS, Dior, French Connection, Country Road, Oroton, UNIQLO, American Express, Glue Store, Peppermint Grove, Larsson & Jennings, and others. Q&A

    Q.
Which cameras and lenses do you use?
    A.
For digital work, I use the Nikon D750 with either a 35mm or an 85mm lens and the Fujifilm X100F. For analogue work, I use the Canon AE-1, Zenit-B, Minolta SRT-201, and Olympus Trip 35.
    Q.
How do you edit your photographs?
    A.
On desktop, I first process my photographs through Camera RAW with my own presets and make selective colour and exposure adjustments, then I apply my own actions in Photoshop. On mobile, I make selective adjustments in Snapseed then add filters using VSCO Cam (my favourite filters are 04, A4, A6, A10, HB2, J5, and M5).
